On Monday night, a 2-alarm industrial fireplace occurred at Tesla‘s Fremont manufacturing facility, which has skilled a number of fires over the previous decade.
Per a press launch from the Fremont Fireplace Division, the fireplace “began inside an oven” and was extinguished “inside lower than an hour of crews arriving on the scene.”
The fireplace division stated no accidents had been reported by public security personnel or Tesla workers.
When reached by Enterprise Insider, the Fremont Fireplace Division stated it couldn’t share any extra details about how the fireplace began or what sort of oven it originated from. The fireplace division is investigating the trigger.
A number of fires have began on the Fremont manufacturing facility through the years. In 2021, a hearth attributable to “molten aluminum and hydraulic fluid” occurred in a car manufacturing stamping machine. The FFD, together with Tesla’s fireplace response crew, helped convey the fireplace beneath management, Enterprise Insider beforehand reported.
In 2019, the FFD shortly put out a hearth in an space containing hazardous waste. No accidents had been reported.
CNBC reported in 2018 that the Tesla manufacturing facility’s paint store had skilled 4 fires in 4 years.
The Fremont manufacturing facility has been mired in different burning controversies.
Black employees on the manufacturing facility stated they skilled rampant racial abuse and discrimination on the plant — and that CEO Elon Musk didn’t step in. Reuters reported that the corporate now faces a category motion lawsuit from 6,000 Black workers, a few of whom labored on the Fremont facility.
And in Might, California regulators accused the manufacturing facility of releasing tons of unlawful air pollution, CBS reported. The manufacturing facility beforehand forked over $750,000 to settle dozens of air high quality violations at its manufacturing facility.
The Bay Space Air High quality Administration District is looking for an abatement order to pressure Tesla to mitigate air air pollution. Tesla can be going through a lawsuit from the Environmental Democracy Challenge for its air high quality violations, CNBC reported.
Representatives for Tesla didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark from Enterprise Insider.
