WinterJS 1.0, a JavaScript internet server written in Rust, has arrived from WebAssembly runtime supplier Wasmer.
Unveiled March 11, WinterJS 1.0 is described by Wasmer as “the quickest JavaScript internet server” and now helps Cloudflare functions and React Server Parts. The WinterCG-compatible JavaScript runtime makes use of the SpiderMonkey JavaScript engine to execute JavaScript and Tokio to deal with underlying HTTP requests and the JavaScript occasion loop. WinterCG, which stands for Net-interoperable Runtimes Neighborhood Group, is a W3C neighborhood group that gives an area for JavaScript runtimes to collaborate on API interoperability.
WinterJS might be compiled to WebAssembly and is runnable within the Wasmer Edge utility deployment platform. WinterJS, Wasmer mentioned, provides “blazing quick” speeds, Cloudflare API compatibility, and assist for internet frameworks similar to Subsequent.js. WinterJS 1.0 is ready to deal with 150,000 requests per second when executed natively, Wasmer mentioned. WinterJS initially was unveiled in October 2023.
